Deadly West Bank Settler Attack Claims Two, Including US Citizen

Two Palestinians, including a dual US citizen, have been killed in a violent incident involving Israeli settlers in the northern occupied West Bank. The Palestinian health ministry confirmed the deaths following an attack in the town of Sinjil on Friday evening.
Sayfollah Musallet, a 23-year-old dual US citizen from Florida, was reportedly beaten to death, while Mohammed al-Shalabi, also 23, died after being shot in the chest. Both men were left bleeding for hours before paramedics could reach them, according to Palestinian reports. The US State Department has acknowledged reports of a US citizen’s death and is reviewing the situation.
The Israeli military stated that the incident began with Palestinians throwing stones at Israeli civilians near Sinjil, leading to a violent confrontation that included property vandalism, arson, and physical clashes. Israeli forces were dispatched to the area to disperse the confrontation and are investigating reports of Palestinian casualties.
The Musallet family claims Sayfollah was brutally beaten while protecting his land and that settlers blocked paramedics from providing aid. This incident marks a further escalation in West Bank violence, which has seen a significant increase in fatalities since October 2023.
