Ukraine Unleashes Extensive Drone Barrage on Key Russian Defense Facilities

In a significant escalation, Ukraine launched an extensive drone attack targeting critical Russian military and industrial sites across multiple regions in the early hours of Friday. Russian authorities claim to have intercepted a staggering 155 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the coordinated assault.

Explosions and suspected strikes were widely reported near high-value defense targets. Among the confirmed sites hit or impacted were the Kronstadt drone manufacturing plant in Dubna, Moscow Region, and the Lukhovitsy Aviation Plant, a branch of Russia’s “MiG” aircraft corporation, also in the Moscow Region. Local residents reported intense overnight UAV activity and powerful blasts near these facilities.

The Tula region, a hub for Russia’s defense industry, also experienced a series of explosions. Three major defense enterprises in Tula’s Proletarsky District – including JSC “Constructor’s Bureau of Instrumentation,” known for high-precision guided weapons, and SPLAV Scientific and Production Association, a producer of multiple-launch rocket systems – were reportedly targeted. These facilities had previously been attacked in May and June.

Further reports indicated UAV activity in Russia’s Kursk region, where a Ukrainian drone allegedly struck the Psilskoye LLC facility, causing a fire. The widespread drone activity prompted temporary flight restrictions at Moscow’s Zhukovsky Airport and St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport, though Pulkovo later resumed limited operations.
