Burning Man Festival: Homicide Investigation Launched After Man Found Dead

A murder investigation is officially underway at the iconic Burning Man festival in Nevada, following the discovery of a man’s body. Police confirm the individual was found “lying in a pool of blood” at a campsite on Saturday night.

Authorities were alerted by a festival-goer around 9:14 PM local time (4:14 AM GMT) and quickly located the deceased man. The tragic discovery coincided with the commencement of the traditional burning of ‘The Man’ structure, the festival’s namesake event.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released. Organizers of the Burning Man Project have stated their full cooperation with law enforcement and have urged all attendees to avoid interfering with the ongoing investigation.
