In a dramatic incident that stunned passengers, a Delta Air Lines co-pilot was arrested by federal agents moments after Flight 2809 from Minneapolis landed at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) on Saturday night.

The Boeing 757-300, which had experienced a delayed second approach due to heavy fog, was undergoing routine deplaning when the situation escalated. Eyewitnesses reported a group of at least 10 law enforcement officers, including agents from Homeland Security Investigations and individuals identified as air marshals, pushing their way through the aisle towards the cockpit.

A first-class passenger recounted how officers “stormed the cockpit, cuffed the co-pilot, arrested him, walked him down the aisle, and ushered him off the plane.” A second team of agents later returned to collect the co-pilot’s personal belongings. His name has not yet been officially released.

Passengers were left “shocked and unnerved” with no explanation from the crew, and the remaining pilot stated he had “no idea what just happened.” Delta Air Lines has declined to comment, directing inquiries to the Department of Homeland Security, which has also not yet provided a statement.

While authorities have not independently confirmed the reason for the arrest, a senior federal source cited by Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin indicated the co-pilot was taken into custody on allegations involving child sexual abuse materials.
