Three people were killed and several others injured in a tragic shooting yesterday morning outside the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada. Police confirmed the suspect, an adult male, is in custody following an officer-involved shooting.

The incident unfolded around 7:25 a.m. Monday in the valet area of the resort. Reno Police Chief Kathryn Nance reported that six individuals sustained gunshot wounds, with three fatalities. Two of the injured remain in critical condition, while one has been released from the hospital.

Authorities quickly apprehended the suspect, whose identity has not yet been released. Initial reports indicate the gunman walked into the parking lot and valet area, pulled out a handgun, and began firing at victims after an initial malfunction. Five people were shot at the valet stand, with one dying at the scene and another later succumbing to injuries. A third victim, driving through the parking lot, was shot and killed at random.

The suspect, reportedly carrying multiple magazines, exchanged gunfire with a security guard before being taken into custody. Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve expressed condolences, thanking first responders and medical personnel for their efforts. Officials currently believe there is no connection between the gunman and the victims. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
