Bradford James Gille, 42, is expected to be arraigned this week on severe criminal charges, including 11 counts of attempted murder and one count of terrorism, following a mass stabbing incident at a Traverse City Walmart on Saturday, July 26, 2025. The brutal attack injured 11 people and sent shockwaves through the popular Michigan vacation community.

Authorities identified Gille, who traveled approximately 90 miles from his home in Afton, as the alleged perpetrator. While the motive remains under investigation, Grand Traverse County officials are treating the incident with extreme gravity, evidenced by the terrorism charge.

The attack, which occurred inside the Garfield Township Walmart, was largely captured on surveillance footage. Gille reportedly entered the store around 4:10 p.m. and began his assault with a folding knife approximately 30 minutes later. A swift law enforcement response, coupled with crucial assistance from bystanders, including an armed civilian, led to Gille’s rapid apprehension within minutes of the 911 call.

Victims, ranging in age from 29 to 84, sustained injuries of varying severity. As of Sunday, July 27, two individuals remained in serious condition, two in fair condition, and one had been released from the hospital. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to uncover further details about Gille and the circumstances leading to the indiscriminate attack.
