A Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (Air India flight AI171) crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport, India, resulting in 241 fatalities and one survivor. The aircraft, carrying 242 individuals, experienced a rapid descent five minutes into the flight, impacting a residential area.
Flight data, including a final signal from FlightRadar24, indicates a steep descent at approximately 475 feet per minute after reaching a maximum altitude of 625 feet. Video footage shows the aircraft at an abnormally low altitude with landing gear deployed and flaps retracted – a configuration inconsistent with normal flight parameters.
