Google Unleashes Generative AI Video on YouTube Shorts and Google Photos

Google has officially commenced the rollout of new generative artificial intelligence video features across its popular platforms, YouTube Shorts and Google Photos. For YouTube Shorts creators, the new capabilities include generating video elements from text prompts, transforming photos into AI-powered videos, and applying a range of generative effects directly from the Shorts camera. These tools are centralized within a new “AI playground hub,” designed to assist users with examples and prompt suggestions.

While the initial deployment leverages the Veo 2 AI model, an upgrade to the more advanced Veo 3 model is anticipated later this summer.
