Hollywood is mourning the loss of actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who tragically passed away on July 20 in a drowning accident. Tributes have been pouring in, including a heartfelt statement from his former ‘Cosby Show’ co-star, Geoffrey Owens.

Warner was best known for his iconic role as Theo Huxtable on NBC’s hit series ‘The Cosby Show,’ which aired from 1984 to 1992. Owens joined the cast in the second season as Elvin Tibideaux, who later married Theo’s eldest sister, Sondra.

In a statement shared with Deadline, Owens expressed his profound grief. “This tragedy has almost left me speechless,” he said. “Malcolm was a lovely man; a sweet and sensitive soul. I respected him for many reasons, including the fact that he genuinely loved the act of creation. He had the mind of an actor and the heart of a musician. He was generous, too. I did a theater project long ago and asked him to participate; and he was there for me. My heart goes out to his family.”
