Suspect Arrested in Double Homicide of ‘American Idol’ Music Supervisor Robin Kaye and Husband

Los Angeles authorities have announced an arrest in connection with the double homicide of long-time ‘American Idol’ music supervisor Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca. The couple was discovered dead in their Encino home on Monday, July 14, 2025, following a welfare check.
Police responded to the residence on the 4700 block of White Oak Avenue, where they found both victims with apparent gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed on Tuesday, July 15, that a suspect, believed to be a burglary suspect, was apprehended. Investigators suggest the victims returned home while the suspect was inside, leading to a confrontation that resulted in their deaths.
Producers of the popular singing competition show expressed their profound grief. A representative for ‘American Idol’ stated, “We are devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom’s, passing. Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her.” Kaye had an extensive career in music supervision, with credits dating back to the late 1990s, including a significant tenure with ‘American Idol’ from 2009 to 2023.
