Cameron Diaz Teams Up with Netflix Again for Action-Comedy ‘Bad Day’

Cameron Diaz is set to continue her acting comeback with Netflix, signing on to star in the new action-comedy ‘Bad Day.’ This marks her second collaboration with the streaming giant following the success of ‘Back in Action,’ which debuted earlier this year and quickly became one of Netflix’s most-watched films.
Diaz will lead ‘Bad Day,’ an original script from Laura Solon that centers on a single mother’s desperate efforts to keep a promise to her daughter amidst the chaos of the worst day of her life. The project is described as a comedic twist on the 1993 drama ‘Falling Down.’
Jake Szymanski, known for directing ‘Jury Duty’ and ‘Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,’ is attached to direct. Beau Bauman, who produced ‘Back in Action,’ will produce ‘Bad Day’ through his Good One Productions. Netflix is fast-tracking the project, with filming scheduled to commence this fall in New York and New Jersey.
