American Veterans Injured in Gaza Aid Distribution Attack

Two American military veterans sustained injuries during an attack while distributing humanitarian aid in Gaza, working with the U.S.- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). Both veterans are reported to be in stable condition and receiving medical treatment.
GHF issued strong warnings about threats, including explicit plans from Hamas to target American personnel and aid workers. The organization stated that the attack tragically confirms these prior warnings. Despite the violence, GHF remains committed to its mission of delivering aid to Gazans.
The organization released an image of grenade fragments, noting they were packed with ball bearings and that the assailants fled into a civilian crowd. According to GHF Executive Chairman Rev. Johnnie Moore, the grenades were of Iranian origin and commonly used by Hamas. Moore also criticized the press and the U.N. for allegedly legitimizing Hamas and amplifying their narratives.
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee condemned the incident, emphasizing Hamas’s disruptive efforts against humanitarian aid. The IDF corroborated that Hamas and other groups continue to sabotage aid distribution and harm Gazan civilians, confirming their troops facilitated the safe evacuation of the injured.
GHF expressed disappointment over the international community’s silence regarding threats and violence against its workers, highlighting that they had warned about such an incident for weeks. The attack occurred just one week after GHF reported that Hamas had placed bounties on its American and Palestinian aid workers.
As of early July, GHF reported having delivered 60 million meals since commencing aid operations in May.
