Samsung’s One UI 8.5 Poised to Introduce Pixel-Like Automatic Call Screening, Leaked Firmware Reveals

Samsung is reportedly gearing up to integrate an automatic call screening feature into its Galaxy phones with the upcoming One UI 8.5 update. This functionality, similar to Google’s popular Call Screening on Pixel devices, has been uncovered through an APK teardown of leaked One UI 8.5 firmware.

Currently, Galaxy users rely on Bixby Text Call for manual call screening. However, the new leak suggests One UI 8.5 will introduce an automated system capable of detecting and answering suspicious calls, providing a real-time text transcript without user intervention. The manual Bixby Text Call option is expected to remain available.

Further insights from the leaked code indicate additional capabilities, such as the AI assistant automatically answering calls when Do Not Disturb mode is active. Samsung is also preparing a language-selection option for the call screening feature. While the specific markets for this feature remain unconfirmed, global availability, at least in English, is anticipated once One UI 8.5 rolls out.
