Sacramento ABC Affiliate KXTV Hit By Gunfire Amid Kimmel Suspension Protests

The Sacramento offices of ABC affiliate KXTV (ABC10) were struck by gunfire on Friday afternoon, police have confirmed. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, despite the building being occupied at the time.

Sacramento police officers responded to the TV station shortly after 1:30 PM following reports of shots fired. Authorities stated that at least three gunshots were fired from a passing vehicle, impacting a window of the building. As of now, police have not provided a description of the suspect vehicle or identified any suspects.

Detectives are actively investigating the scene to determine if the shooting was a random act or a targeted attack. The incident occurred just one day after the KXTV building was the site of a protest related to ABC’s recent suspension of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” While no protesters were present when the shots were fired, the proximity to the demonstration, which was part of wider protests over Kimmel’s suspension, is being considered in the ongoing investigation.
