Apple’s Next-Gen ‘Vision Air’ Headset Predicted for Lighter, Cheaper 2027 Launch

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared new insights into the tech giant’s future plans, predicting a significantly lighter and more affordable version of the Vision Pro headset, tentatively dubbed ‘Vision Air’, to arrive in 2027. This next-generation device aims to address current model limitations, potentially making spatial computing more accessible.
Kuo’s projections suggest the ‘Vision Air’ could be over 40 percent lighter than the current 1.375-pound Vision Pro, bringing its weight comfortably under a pound. Crucially, it’s also expected to be more than 50 percent cheaper. With the Vision Pro priced at $3,499, a half-priced version would retail around $1,750, positioning it closer to high-end Macs and potentially a future foldable iPhone, thus broadening its market appeal.
Previous rumors align with these predictions, pointing to a titanium internal structure for weight reduction, a slimmer profile, and a redesigned battery enclosure. Kuo anticipates strong sales for the ‘Vision Air’, projecting one million units sold in 2027, a substantial increase from the 400,000 Vision Pro units.
