The anticipation for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series unveiling is reaching a fever pitch, with just days remaining until the official launch event. Ahead of the much-anticipated September 9 reveal, new price estimates from J.P. Morgan analyst Samik Chatterjee, as reported by 9to5Mac, offer a glimpse into potential pricing structures for the next-generation devices.

According to Chatterjee’s projections, the iPhone 17 Pro could see its starting price jump by $100, moving from the iPhone 16 Pro’s $999 to an estimated $1,099. This increase, however, is potentially tied to a rumored upgrade in base storage, with the iPhone 17 Pro expected to start at 256GB, doubling the previous generation’s 128GB entry point. Should this prove accurate, it would mark the first time in eight years that a Pro model or its equivalent breaks the $999 starting price point, even if attributed to a SKU elimination.

In more reassuring news for consumers, the standard iPhone 17 and the top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max are estimated to maintain their current starting prices of $799 and $1,199, respectively. The introduction of the new iPhone 17 Air, replacing the Plus model, is projected to start between $899 and $949, potentially a $50 increase over the iPhone 16 Plus.

While Apple has historically managed to keep U.S. iPhone prices stable despite persistent rumors of increases, these new estimates suggest a potential shift for certain models. All will be confirmed when Apple officially unveils the iPhone 17 series and its pricing on Tuesday, September 9.
