The soap opera world is mourning the loss of Tristan Rogers, the acclaimed actor widely recognized for his enduring role as Robert Scorpio on ABC’s ‘General Hospital’. Rogers passed away on August 15th at the age of 79, following a battle with cancer.

For more than four decades, Rogers captivated audiences with his portrayal of the charismatic and adventurous Robert Scorpio, forming one of daytime television’s most cherished supercouples alongside Emma Samms’ Holly Sutton. Tributes have poured in from heartbroken co-stars, colleagues, and fans across social media.

Emma Samms, who played his on-screen love interest, shared her profound sadness, stating she was ‘incredibly sad to hear the news about Tristan’ and fondly recalling how he taught her ‘spontaneity and fun’ during their 40-year collaboration. Fellow ‘GH’ stars also expressed their grief, with Rick Springfield remembering Rogers as a ‘witty bloke from the Great Southern Land’ and Genie Francis calling him a ‘very bright light.’

Frank Valentini, Executive Producer of ‘General Hospital,’ released a statement acknowledging Rogers’ immense contribution: ‘The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers’ passing. Tristan has captivated our fans for 45 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio).’ He extended deepest sympathies to Rogers’ family and friends, highlighting his ‘one-of-a-kind talent.’

Rogers, whose last appearance on ‘General Hospital’ was in November of last year, also earned a Daytime Emmy for his work in the digital drama ‘Studio City.’ His remarkable talent and warm presence will be deeply missed by the industry and his devoted fanbase.
