Game of Thrones” stars Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are set to reunite on screen in the upcoming gothic horror film, ‘The Dreadful,’ but their experience filming intimate scenes was far from pleasant. Turner recently opened up about the profound discomfort of shooting these moments with her former on-screen brother/cousin, revealing that both actors found themselves “retching” during the process.

Turner, who also serves as a producer on the Natasha Kermani-directed film, recounted her initial thought to cast Harington for the role. However, upon closer inspection of the script, she realized the extent of the intimate scenes required between their characters. “I’m like, ‘Kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex scene.’ And then I’m like, oh shoot, that’s my brother,” she explained, referencing their iconic sibling dynamic as Sansa Stark and Jon Snow.

Despite the inherent awkwardness, both actors committed to the project, drawn in by the compelling script. Yet, the reality on set proved challenging. Turner described their first kissing scene as “vile” and even labeled it “the worst” moment of her career, highlighting the profound discomfort of portraying such intimacy with a long-time colleague and fictional family member.

‘The Dreadful’ is set against the backdrop of the War of the Roses, following Anne (Turner) and her mother-in-law Morwen (Marcia Gay Harden) as their solitary lives are disrupted by the return of a mysterious man from their past (Harington), setting off a sequence of events that will irrevocably change Anne’s life.
