The Department of Justice is reportedly considering the public release of transcripts from Ghislaine Maxwell’s recent interview, where she stated that former President Donald Trump never engaged in concerning behavior in her presence. Sources familiar with the internal discussions indicate these transcripts could be made public as early as this week.

Maxwell, an associate of the late Jeffrey Epstein, met for nine hours over two days last month with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. During these discussions, Maxwell reportedly told Blanche that Trump had not done anything concerning around her. An audio recording of the interview also exists, though it’s unclear if it will be released alongside the transcripts.

Convicted of sex trafficking and other charges in 2022, Maxwell is currently appealing her conviction to the U.S. Supreme Court. She recently transferred to a federal prison camp in Texas. Maxwell herself requested the interview with the DOJ, and Trump has previously not ruled out a pardon for her.

Following the meetings, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche tweeted that the DOJ would share information at the appropriate time. Trump, when asked about the interview’s contents, indicated his desire to release everything while ensuring no one is unfairly harmed.
