Suspect in Tennessee Family Murders, Austin Drummond, Captured After Week-Long Manhunt

Austin Drummond, the man suspected of brutally murdering four family members in Tennessee, has been apprehended, authorities confirmed today. His arrest on Tuesday morning brings an end to an intensive week-long manhunt that had gripped the region.
Drummond, 28, now faces four counts of first-degree murder along with other charges in connection with the killings. The victims have been identified as Cortney Rose, 38; Adrianna Williams, 20; Braydon Williams, 15; and James Matthew Wilson, 21.
The extensive search for Drummond prompted warnings to the public, advising caution as he was considered armed and dangerous. A reward for information leading to his capture had escalated to $32,500. Surveillance footage released by Jackson, Tennessee police on Monday, showing Drummond carrying what appeared to be a rifle, preceded his capture. Following his apprehension, authorities shared images of Drummond in custody.
The investigation began last week after an infant was found abandoned in a front yard. Identifying the child led authorities to seek out Rose, Adrianna Williams, and Wilson, ultimately resulting in the discovery of the four victims’ bodies. Rose was the mother of Braydon and Adrianna Williams, the latter of whom was in a relationship with Wilson. District Attorney Danny Goodman highlighted the tragedy, noting a child has lost parents, a grandparent, and an uncle.
Goodman also stated that Drummond was reportedly dating a close relative of the victims. During the manhunt, three individuals were arrested on suspicion of being accessories after the fact to the killings.
