Just hours after an ‘immediate and unconditional’ ceasefire agreement took effect, Thailand has accused Cambodia of a significant violation. A Thai military spokesperson confirmed that Cambodian forces attacked Thai territory in multiple locations.

In response to the alleged incursions, Thailand’s military stated it engaged in defensive actions to uphold its national sovereignty. This rapid escalation threatens to reignite border tensions shortly after hopes for a peaceful resolution had emerged between the two nations.
