Bradford James Gille, 42, is facing severe charges, including 11 counts of attempted murder and one count of terrorism, following a mass stabbing at a Traverse City Walmart on Saturday, July 26. The attack left 11 people injured, with several remaining hospitalized as of Monday, July 28.

New details emerging from the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office reveal that deputies were actively searching for Gille under a court order just hours before the horrific incident. Authorities had received an order on Friday, July 25, to take Gille into custody but were unable to locate him prior to the attack.

Victim conditions range from fair to serious, with one person still in serious condition at Munson Healthcare. Gille was apprehended swiftly by a Grand Traverse County sheriff’s deputy, aided by brave bystanders, within minutes of a 911 call.

The motive behind the violent assault remains unclear, and Gille’s arraignment date in Grand Traverse County District Court had not yet been scheduled as of Monday morning. Public records indicate Gille has a history of mental health and substance use issues. He remains lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail as investigations continue.
