Authorities in Michigan announced Sunday that Bradford Gille, 42, is expected to face a terrorism charge along with 11 counts of assault with intent to murder. The charges stem from a mass stabbing at a Traverse City Walmart on Saturday, July 26, which left 11 shoppers and one employee injured.

Grand Traverse County Prosecutor Noelle Moeggenberg indicated that the terrorism charge reflects the attack’s intent to instill fear across the entire community, rather than solely targeting individual victims. All 11 victims, ranging in age from 29 to 84, are expected to survive, with two remaining in serious condition at Munson Medical Center.

The incident unfolded Saturday afternoon when Gille allegedly entered the store and began randomly stabbing individuals. Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea praised the rapid response of law enforcement, who arrived within three minutes of the initial call, and the courageous actions of bystanders who intervened and detained the suspect in the parking lot. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation.
