Richard Tillman, brother of late NFL star and Army Ranger Pat Tillman, was arrested on suspicion of arson following a fiery incident where a car crashed into a San Jose post office early Sunday morning, July 20, 2025.

Authorities responded to the Almaden Valley Station Post Office shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday, where a vehicle had slammed into the building’s box lobby area, subsequently catching fire. The blaze was extinguished without any reported injuries.

Richard Tillman, 44, has been booked into Santa Clara County Jail. Federal postal investigators are actively probing the incident, including claims that the driver live-streamed the crash and the presence of spray-painted words found on the building, though their connection to the event remains unclear. Investigators have not yet determined if impairment was a factor in the crash.
