In a significant development, former President Donald Trump has directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce additional documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. This move comes after sustained pressure from his supporters demanding further disclosures regarding the disgraced financier.

While the exact scope and timing of the release remain unclear, and court approval would typically be required, Trump stated in a social media post, “Based on the ridiculous amount of publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein, I have asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony, subject to Court approval.”

Minutes after Trump’s directive, Attorney General Bondi confirmed her readiness, posting, “We are ready to move the court tomorrow to unseal the grand jury transcripts.” It is currently unconfirmed whether the requested testimony pertains to Epstein’s earlier Florida cases or the federal charges brought in 2019.

This order follows a period of intense scrutiny, particularly after Bondi had previously indicated that the Justice Department did not believe Epstein had a “client list” and that he died by suicide, contradicting earlier suggestions of major revelations. This reversal had led to strong criticism from some of Trump’s most ardent supporters.

The directive also follows Trump’s announcement that he plans to sue The Wall Street Journal over an article alleging he sent a “bawdy” birthday greeting to Epstein in 2003. Trump has vehemently denied the letter’s authenticity, calling it “fake” and “defamatory.”

Jeffrey Epstein died in a New York prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate of Epstein, was convicted in 2021 for her role in sex-trafficking children.
