Houston Man Charged with Murder in Fatal Doorbell Prank Shooting of 11-Year-Old

Houston, TX – A 42-year-old Houston man has been charged with murder following the fatal shooting of an 11-year-old boy who reportedly rang his doorbell and ran away as part of a “ding dong ditch” prank. Gonzalo Leon Jr. was taken into custody on Tuesday and is currently being held at Harris County Jail.
According to the Houston Police Department, Julian Guzman was playing the prank just before 11:00 PM local time on Saturday night when he was shot. Witnesses reported seeing Guzman running from a house after ringing a doorbell just prior to sustaining a gunshot wound. Police confirm Leon Jr. has been charged in connection with the tragic incident.
