Google is rolling out a significant new feature for Gmail users designed to bring order to chaotic inboxes: the “Manage subscriptions” tool. This new functionality allows users to effortlessly view and control all their email subscriptions from a single, centralized location within Gmail.

Available now on the web and coming to Android devices on July 14, followed by iOS on July 21, the tool aims to simplify the process of unsubscribing from unwanted newsletters, promotional emails, and daily alerts that often overwhelm users. Through the feature, individuals can see their most frequent senders, track the volume of emails received, and initiate unsubscribe requests directly from Gmail, eliminating the need to navigate external websites.

Chris Doan, Gmail’s director of product, emphasized the tool’s purpose in combating the “sheer volume of subscription emails clogging your inbox.” The “Manage subscriptions” tool can be accessed via the navigation bar in the top-left corner of the Gmail inbox, complementing existing features like the one-click unsubscribe button. This new addition is available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and personal Google account holders, promising a more streamlined and less cluttered email experience for millions.
