Recent leaks are shedding light on the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, suggesting significant improvements, particularly in its camera system. While the flagship is expected to retain its 200MP primary sensor, 50MP ultrawide, and 50MP 5x telephoto cameras, a key focus appears to be on addressing long-standing camera shortcomings.

According to new information, Samsung is finally set to upgrade the 3x zoom telephoto camera, which has remained unchanged since the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The S26 Ultra is rumored to feature a new 12MP sensor for its 3x optical zoom, a notable improvement over the current 10MP module. Additionally, the front-facing camera is also slated for an upgrade, though specific details remain under wraps. The primary 200MP camera is also said to receive a newer lens and a new laser autofocus sensor for enhanced focus speed and reliability.

Beyond cameras, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to boast Qualcomm’s 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 processor globally, reportedly without a Samsung Foundry-made 2nm variant. This powerhouse chipset will drive a next-gen ProVisual Engine for superior image and video processing. The device is also rumored to feature a 20% larger vapor chamber for better sustained performance and 16GB of RAM as standard across all storage configurations (256GB, 512GB, 1TB).

Design-wise, the S26 Ultra is said to feature even thinner display bezels and a slimmer profile, while maintaining its IP68 dust and water resistance rating. Interestingly, Samsung reportedly tested a new S Pen without a digitizer but found the results unsatisfactory, indicating the S25 Ultra’s S Pen technology will likely carry over.
