Capcom has offered fans their first extensive look at Resident Evil Requiem gameplay, revealing a significant new feature: the ability to seamlessly switch between first-person and third-person perspectives. Showcased during a recent Capcom Spotlight event, the footage introduced FBI Agent Grace Ashcroft as the new protagonist, navigating eerie, dimly lit environments.

The first-person segments emphasized intense horror, showing Ashcroft armed with only a lighter, encountering a menacing humanoid creature. Another first-person clip highlighted her deductive reasoning skills and proficiency with a handgun. For players who prefer a different experience, brief third-person footage demonstrated an over-the-shoulder view, promising more action-heavy gameplay. Developers confirmed players can toggle between these modes at any point in the campaign via the Options menu, catering to both classic horror fans and action enthusiasts.

Resident Evil Requiem is set 30 years after the devastating missile strike on Raccoon City, a narrative choice reflected in the game’s title, a “requiem” for those who perished. While fan speculation about Leon S. Kennedy’s appearance remains, the initial reveal focused solely on Ashcroft’s journey.

The highly anticipated title is slated for release on February 27, 2026, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.
