Los Angeles Dodgers star Kiké Hernández has issued a powerful condemnation of recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in Los Angeles, expressing both sadness and anger at the situation.

In an impassioned Instagram post, Hernández stated, “I may not be Born & Raised, but this city adopted me as one of their own. I am saddened and infuriated by what’s happening in our country and our city.”

Hernández, a Puerto Rico native who played for the Dodgers from 2015 to 2020 before a stint with the Boston Red Sox, was traded back to the Dodgers in 2023. He highlighted the welcoming nature of Los Angeles and its fans, emphasizing his deep connection to the city.

“Los Angeles and Dodger fans have welcomed me, supported me and shown me nothing but kindness and love. This is my second home. And I cannot stand to see our community being violated, profiled, abused and ripped apart. ALL people deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and human rights,” he wrote, adding the hashtag #CityOfImmigrants.

Hernández’s statement comes amid national attention focused on the recent ICE raids and widespread protests across the country.
