Hey friend, you won’t believe the news coming out of Minnesota. There’s been a massive manhunt and a shocking double murder involving a state lawmaker.

It all started with a shooting that injured State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette. A neighbor described hearing “pow-pow-pow-pow” and seeing a dark car speeding away from their home. Thankfully, both John and Yvette are expected to survive, with Yvette stating they’re “incredibly lucky to be alive.”

But the story took a tragic turn. The shooting was connected to the brutal murders of Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark. Senator Amy Klobuchar described Hortman as a remarkable leader and a force for positive change in the state, highlighting her work on crucial legislation.

After a two-day search involving nearly 200 law enforcement officers, including multiple SWAT teams, the suspect, 57-year-old Vance Boelter, was finally apprehended. He was found armed and hiding in a field. Can you imagine?

Boelter is now facing four counts of murder – two for the Hortmans and two for the attack on the Hoffmans. He’s currently being held on a $5 million bond and appeared in court today. The FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office are also involved, suggesting potential further charges down the line.

It’s a truly awful situation, and the whole state is reeling. The scale of the manhunt and the gravity of the crimes are just shocking. I’ll keep you posted as more information comes out.
