Moldova’s ruling pro-European Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) is currently leading in the closely watched parliamentary election, with preliminary results indicating a strong performance. PAS lawmaker Radu Marian hailed the early figures as a significant victory for the entire European continent.

“There should be relief in all Europe because peace, progress, democracy is won,” Marian stated, emphasizing the party’s success in countering what he described as a “mighty Russian dictatorship.”

Daniel Voda, the Moldovan government spokesperson, echoed this sentiment, characterizing the ongoing count as “a celebration of democracy.” Voda highlighted that Moldovan citizens, both domestically and abroad, have clearly expressed their desire for “peace, development under the European Union family.” The results reinforce the nation’s pro-Western trajectory.
