Dublin Airport is experiencing its second consecutive day of significant disruption at Terminal 2, following a cyber-attack that has crippled crucial check-in and baggage systems. As of midday, a total of 13 flights have been cancelled – nine inbound and four outbound – impacting numerous travelers.

Aer Lingus, a major airline operating from Dublin, has stated it expects to be “significantly impacted” throughout Sunday, leading to widespread flight delays and further cancellations. Passengers are strongly advised to check-in for their flights online in advance and to monitor their airline’s updates closely for the latest flight status information.

Airport spokesperson Graeme McQueen confirmed they are supporting airlines dealing with the “ongoing disruption caused by a Europe-wide technical issue” affecting check-in and boarding systems. He added that some airlines are resorting to manual workarounds for bag tags and boarding passes, which are significantly extending processing times. Travelers needing to check-in or drop off bags at the airport should allow considerable additional time, with the airport recommending two hours for short-haul and three hours for long-haul flights.

The root cause of the disruption is a cyber-related incident affecting the Muse software, owned by Collins Aerospace (part of RTX). This critical system enables multiple airlines to share check-in desks and boarding gates efficiently. While the company acknowledges the “cyber-related disruption” in “select airports,” it has not yet disclosed the specifics of the incident or provided an estimated resolution time.
