Harris states, ‘as loyal as I am to President Biden, I am more loyal to my country,’ expressing deep frustration over the perceived inability to garner positive attention for her work or receive defense against ‘untrue attacks.’ She alleges that the president’s staff actively fueled negative stories about her performance and often refused to counter Republican criticisms, including narratives about a ‘chaotic’ office and unusually high staff turnover during her first year. According to Harris, the unprecedented level of scrutiny from a dedicated vice presidential press pool, a departure from previous administrations, amplified minor issues into significant news stories.

While critical of certain aspects, Harris also defends Biden against claims of incapacity.
