Lenovo continues to push the boundaries of PC design, unveiling its innovative ThinkBook VertiFlex Concept laptop at the IFA conference in Berlin. This groundbreaking prototype features a 14-inch display that can effortlessly swivel into and out of portrait mode, offering users unprecedented flexibility.

While the VertiFlex PC is currently a concept and details like internal components are scarce, Lenovo has a history of transforming experimental designs into commercial products, as seen with the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable. This latest exploration showcases Lenovo’s commitment to unique laptop experiences beyond ultralight, undifferentiated designs.

The VertiFlex concept is remarkably slim at just 0.7 inches thick and weighs 3.06 pounds. Its standout feature is the unique hinge system that enables the screen’s rotation. A central pivot point, combined with a hidden horizontal track and an upward-lifting hinge, allows the display to rotate smoothly counterclockwise without making contact with the base. Users can easily grasp a corner of the screen to transition from a standard clamshell view to a full portrait orientation, with the image adjusting automatically.
