The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has admitted responsibility for a “mistaken” airstrike that hit the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, Gaza Strip, on August 25, 2025. The attack tragically resulted in the deaths of 15 individuals, including a Reuters contractor, Hussam al-Masri, and left another Reuters contractor, Hatem Khaled, injured.

A Reuters spokesperson confirmed the devastating news, stating, “We are devastated to learn of the death of Reuters contractor Hussam al-Masri and injuries to another of our contractors, Hatem Khaled, in Israeli strikes.” The IDF acknowledged the incident, which also claimed the lives of other civilians within the hospital premises.
