Parents Arrested for Murder in Disappearance of 7-Month-Old Emmanuel Haro; Search Continues

Authorities in California have arrested the parents of 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro on murder charges, two days after the infant was reported missing. Jake and Rebecca Haro were taken into custody at their Cabazon residence on August 22, 2025, as the extensive search for their son continues.
Emmanuel Haro was last reported missing on August 14 at approximately 7:47 p.m. local time. His mother, Rebecca Haro, initially told officials she was physically assaulted outside a Yucaipa retail store while changing the child’s diaper, claiming she was rendered unconscious and the child vanished upon her regaining consciousness. However, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department noted inconsistencies in her statements, prompting investigators to state they could not “rule out foul play” early in the investigation.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail and Specialized Enforcement Division conducted extensive searches in Yucaipa and Cabazon, served multiple search warrants at the Haro home, and reviewed surveillance footage. While the parents are now in custody facing murder charges, authorities have confirmed that the search for 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro is still active. Records show the father, Jake Haro, had previously pleaded guilty to willful cruelty to a child following a 2018 arrest.
