The Gainesville Makos Aquatics Club made a splash this past weekend, not just hosting the 2025 Makos Summer Splash, but also winning the overall team competition. The home team’s victory was hard-fought, with strong showings from other clubs like the Fast Falcons and Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club, who secured second and third place respectively.

Individual victories were scattered across several clubs. Zeina M. Nagy (Gator Swim Club-FL) and Kent Johnson (Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club-FL) emerged victorious in the fiercely competitive 8-and-under girls and boys divisions, respectively.

Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club dominated the 9-10 girls’ category, claiming five of the top six spots, with Madeline Bigelow taking the gold. Christian Beauchamp (Gator Swim Club) triumphed in the 9-10 boys’ division. The 11-12 age groups saw AJ Trammell (United Swim Club) and Aspen Ralys (Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club) claim top honors.

Dalton Von Hertsenberg (Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club) and Simeon Tuso (Isle Swim Club) showcased their skills in the 13-14 age groups. The 15-and-over divisions saw impressive performances, with four of the top six boys hailing from the host Makos Aquatics Club, with Jack Chase taking first place. Casey Fair (Columbia Tiger Sharks Swim Club) secured the top spot in the 15-and-over girls’ competition.
