Major news for Pokémon enthusiasts emerged from the 2025 Pokémon World Championships: Pokémon Legends: Z-A will feature a brand-new multiplayer battle mode. Coming to both the Nintendo Switch and the highly anticipated Switch 2, the “Z-A Battle Club” is set to revolutionize trainer combat with the introduction of Link and Ranked Battles.

Within the Z-A Battle Club, Link Battles will challenge up to four players in a frantic race against the clock. Trainers will have three minutes to defeat as many opposing Pokémon as possible, requiring strategic use of diverse moves and powerful Mega Evolutions. For competitive players, Ranked Battles offer a global arena where up to four trainers can compete online, earning points to climb the ranks from Z to A. Active participation in these seasonal challenges will unlock in-game rewards and bonuses, with additional rewards granted based on final rank at season’s end. Private Battles will also be available for friends, supporting both local and online play.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is scheduled for release on October 16, 2025. Pre-orders are now officially live, including an attractive bundle offer that features the new Nintendo Switch 2 console.
