Battlefield 6 is generating significant buzz, with a prominent video game analytics firm predicting it will achieve the franchise’s most successful launch to date, potentially exceeding one million pre-orders. The upcoming EA shooter is currently in its second early beta phase, having recently seen concurrent player counts on Steam surpass 400,000, indicating robust player engagement.

Alinea Analytics reports that pre-orders for Battlefield 6 have already reached an impressive 800,000 copies, generating $40 million in revenue. This performance far outstrips previous installments and other leading shooters, signaling a major turnaround for the Battlefield franchise, which is slated for an October 2025 release.

Rhys Elliott from Alinea Analytics highlighted the game’s strong momentum, noting the significant improvement in concurrent beta players from 335,000 to 407,000 within a single day. Elliott believes that if EA can sustain its marketing efforts, the game is well on track to surpass the one million pre-sale mark. He emphasized the current quiet period in new game releases, providing ample room for Battlefield 6 to build anticipation ahead of the busier autumn season.

While the game is poised for immense success, Elliott tempered expectations regarding ambitious targets like 100 million lifetime players, deeming them unrealistic for a paid title, even with a free-to-play battle royale component. He also dismissed claims that Battlefield 6 would ‘stomp’ Call of Duty, acknowledging Battlefield 6’s appeal to hardcore FPS fans but recognizing Call of Duty’s enduring mass market dominance and brand inertia.

Regarding pricing, EA’s decision to maintain the $70 base price point for Battlefield 6 appears to be a strategic move contributing to its strong pre-order figures. Elliott suggested that an $80 price tag could have deterred some potential buyers, especially given the current economic climate, and that the $70 price allows publishers to still offer higher-priced special editions to super fans without alienating the broader audience. The analyst concluded that while game prices are likely to rise eventually, $70 remains the current sweet spot for most titles.
