A major drone attack targeted an oil refinery in Saratov, Russia, today, August 10, triggering a large fire and multiple explosions. Local reports indicate that footage circulating on Russian social media depicts drones overhead and active air defense systems, with residents confirming a loud explosion before the facility was engulfed in flames.

Saratov Governor Roman Busargin has confirmed damage to one of the region’s industrial sites. Initial reports, though unverified by independent sources, suggest one fatality and several injuries from the strike. Further reports from local Telegram channels also detail air defense activity and explosions in the cities of Lipetsk and Voronezh. Ukrainian officials have not yet commented on these incidents.

This latest attack follows recent disruptions, including flight delays at Russia’s Sochi airport due to reported drone activity and a previous strike on a storage facility in Tatarstan housing Shahed-type drones.
