Urgent Search Underway for Missing US Journalist Alec Luhn in Norway

Rescue crews are intensifying their search efforts in Norway for American climate journalist Alec Luhn, who was reported missing after failing to return from a glacier hike. Luhn, known for his work with various news outlets including the BBC, embarked on his trek from Odda on July 31st into Folgefonna National Park.

His wife, Veronika Silchenko, alerted authorities when he did not board his scheduled return flight on Monday. Ongoing rescue operations are being significantly hampered by adverse weather conditions, which are preventing aerial patrols by helicopters. Concerns are growing as the search continues for Luhn in the challenging glacial terrain.
