Israeli Rights Groups Renew Genocide Allegations Amid Gaza Conflict

Two leading Israeli human rights organizations, B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights Israel, have reiterated their grave accusations against the Israeli government, alleging it is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. The groups assert that Palestinians have been ‘stripped of their humanity and rights,’ and accuse Israel of systematically dismantling Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure.

In their joint reports, presented at a press conference in Jerusalem, the NGOs claim Israel is executing ‘coordinated, deliberate action to destroy Palestinian society in the Gaza Strip.’ They argue that despite claims of targeting only Hamas, Israeli policy involves ‘mass killing’ through direct attacks and the creation of catastrophic living conditions, escalating the death toll.

The reports detail ‘serious bodily or mental harm to the entire population’ and ‘large-scale destruction of infrastructure,’ including schools and cultural sites. Yuli Novak, B’Tselem’s executive director, stated, ‘The people of Gaza have been displaced, bombed and starved, left completely stripped of their humanity and rights.’

Physicians for Human Rights Israel specifically highlighted the systematic destruction of Gaza’s healthcare system. The Israeli government has consistently dismissed these allegations as ‘baseless,’ a stance it has maintained against similar accusations, including a case brought by South Africa at the International Court of Justice.
