The mainstage for Tomorrowland 2025, one of the world’s largest electronic dance music festivals, has been almost entirely destroyed by a massive fire. The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 16, just two days before the festival’s scheduled opening on Friday, July 18.

Footage circulating from Belgian news outlets and individuals on site shows the festival’s primary gathering area consumed by flames, with large plumes of smoke rising into the sky. Fortunately, festival representatives confirmed that no attendees were present at the time of the blaze, and all event staff on site were uninjured.

Despite the significant damage to the mainstage, organizers have stated that the festival campsite, DreamVille, will open as planned on Thursday, July 17. Related activities in Brussels and Antwerp are also set to proceed. The focus now shifts to ‘finding solutions for the festival weekend,’ with further updates promised as soon as possible. Emergency services are currently on site, and authorities are advising local residents experiencing smoke nuisance to keep windows and doors closed. Tomorrowland 2025, the 19th edition, is set to host an array of global dance music stars and typically draws approximately 400,000 attendees over its two weekends.
