Fox Sports broadcaster and former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was arrested Saturday in Indianapolis following an incident that led to him being stabbed. Authorities confirmed Sanchez faces preliminary charges of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication.

Sanchez, who remains hospitalized, was arrested at the medical facility and has not yet been booked into jail. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office is expected to make the final charging decision regarding the allegations.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that the stabbing occurred during “a physical disturbance” early Saturday morning. Police emphasized that the incident was believed to be isolated between two adult males and not a random act of violence, having identified the individuals involved and reviewed video footage.

Fox Sports issued a statement confirming Sanchez was in stable condition, later declining further comment. Sanchez was in Indianapolis to cover Sunday’s game between the Colts and Las Vegas Raiders; NFL analyst Brady Quinn will step in for the broadcast in his absence.

The New York Jets, Sanchez’s former team, shared a message of support on social media, wishing him a speedy recovery.
