Apple Implements Urgent Fixes for iPhone 17 Display Scratches in Retail Stores

Apple is rapidly rolling out solutions to address concerns over scratches and marks appearing on iPhone 17 display units in its retail stores. Following the recent launch of the iPhone 17 lineup, shoppers and staff alike observed imperfections on the back glass and camera plateau of demo devices.

The tech giant has confirmed that these marks are not permanent scratches but rather material transfer from worn MagSafe stands used in some stores. Apple clarified that these imperfections are removable with proper cleaning. To combat the issue, Apple has initiated two key measures.

Firstly, stores are being equipped with new silicone rings to be placed around the edges of MagSafe stands, preventing further contact that could lead to material transfer. Secondly, Apple corporate has issued a directive to retail employees, instructing them to implement a more rigorous cleaning regimen for demo units. This new protocol involves mixing a specific salt substance with their regular cleaning solution, a method reportedly effective in removing the existing marks.
