US climate journalist Alec Luhn, 38, has been found alive days after vanishing during a solo hiking trip in Norway’s Folgefonna National Park. His family confirmed the miraculous news, bringing an end to a nearly week-long search.

Luhn, who has contributed to various news outlets, disappeared after setting off from Odda on July 31. He failed to appear for his scheduled return flight on Monday, prompting his wife, Veronika Silchenko, to alert authorities.

Ms. Silchenko shared her immense relief with CBS News, stating, “I think it’s a miracle. It’s the best day of my life.” While he sustained a leg injury during his ordeal, Luhn is otherwise reported to be in good health.
