Tennessee Quadruple Murder Suspect Captured After Manhunt
Austin Robert Drummond, 28, the man wanted in connection with the brutal killings of four Tennessee family members, has been apprehended, police confirmed Tuesday. His arrest in Jackson, Tennessee, followed a tense search and vital community tips after authorities had warned residents to stay indoors.
Drummond is accused of the murders of an infant’s parents, grandmother, and uncle, whose bodies were discovered in Lake County after the baby was found abandoned in a front yard last week. The victims have been identified as James M. Wilson, 21; Adrianna Williams, 20; Cortney Rose, 38; and Braydon Williams, 15. District Attorney Danny Goodman stated the attack was not random, with Drummond having familial connections to the victims.
Facing four counts of first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, and weapons offenses, Drummond is expected to appear in court in Tiptonville later this week. Prosecutors have indicated the death penalty is “very likely” to be sought. The arrest was aided by public calls after police released surveillance footage of Drummond, who had been hiding in a vacant building.
The investigation has also led to the arrests of Tanaka Brown, Giovonte Thomas, and Dearrah Sanders on charges of accessory after the fact to first-degree murder, for allegedly assisting Drummond. The infant, a girl, is reportedly safe and being cared for by relatives.
