Russian Plane Crash: Wreckage of Missing An-24 Found in Far East

Wreckage of a Russian passenger plane carrying 49 people, including five children, has been discovered in the country’s far eastern Amur region. The Antonov An-24 aircraft, which was en route from Blagoveshchensk to Tynda, vanished from radar earlier today, Thursday, July 24, 2025.
According to Russian news agency Interfax, the debris was located approximately nine miles from its intended destination in Tynda. Amur region Governor Vasily Orlov confirmed the plane was carrying 43 passengers and six crew members when it disappeared.
Artem Korenyako, a spokesperson for Russia’s federal aviation agency Rosaviatsiya, stated via Telegram that a search and rescue helicopter “discovered a burning fuselage,” with rescuers currently en route to the scene. Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations also reported the discovery of burning wreckage and confirmed that over 50 personnel and 10 pieces of equipment have been deployed for search and rescue operations.
