The next generation of wireless charging is officially on its way, with the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) certifying the first eight Qi2.2 products this week. These new devices, including power banks, car mounts, and multi-device stands, promise significantly faster 25W charging speeds, a substantial upgrade from the previous Qi2 standard’s 15W cap.

While the Qi2.2 standard was introduced in April 2025, the certification of products on July 15th marks a pivotal moment for consumer availability. Ugreen was quick to announce its upcoming Qi2.2 wireless charging power bank yesterday, leading a wave of manufacturers poised to launch new accessories. Other certified companies, including Anker, Aukey, and Scosche, are expected to unveil their Qi2.2 offerings soon.

The Qi2.2 standard builds upon Qi2’s magnetic alignment, a feature derived from Apple’s MagSafe technology. Its arrival is anticipated to boost adoption among device manufacturers, as current Qi2 support remains limited beyond Apple’s iPhones. The imminent market debut of these 25W chargers signals a new era of faster, more efficient wireless power for consumers.
